Loosely adapting one of Denmark’s most horrific historical real-life murder cases, director Magnus von Horn (Sweat) frames this unsettling story as a dark adult fairy-tale. Shooting in pristine black-and-white, The Girl with the Needle is a meticulously crafted and fearful observation of the darkest side of human nature, and one woman’s struggle for survival.
