Pavilion Theatre presents
Joseph O’Connor
in conversation with Alex Clark
Joseph O’Connor (Star of the Sea, Shadowplay, My Father's House) returns to Pavilion Theatre to discuss The Ghosts of Rome, the second novel in his Escape Line Trilogy.
The trilogy is inspired by the sensational true story of Kerry man Monsignor Hugh O'Flaherty - "the Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican" who was awarded a CBE for his service during WWII. He and his fellow Escape Line activists saved 6,500 allied soldiers and Jewish refugees. In the follow-up to the number one bestseller My Father’s House, the Contessa Giovanna Landini takes on Gestapo chief Paul Hauptmann in a daring mission in Occupied Rome.
Joseph will be interviewed by literary journalist and editor Alex Clark, who has written for The Guardian, The Observer and The Times Literary Supplement. She also presents Front Row on BBC Radio 4 and hosts The TLS Podcast about books.
