Joseph O’Connor (My Father's House) returns to Pavilion Theatre to discuss the second part of his wartime trilogy, The Ghosts of Rome. Joe will be interviewed by Alex Clark, and it promises to be another memorable night. 

This new novel continues the true story of a fearless Irish priest Hugh O’Flaherty who rescued countless victims of the Nazis from the clutches of his SS officer nemesis from his home in neutral Vatican City.

As Nazi Commandant Hauptmann's net begins closing in on the Escape Line, Father Hugh O’Flaherty’s attempts to hide the vulnerable under the noses of the enemy becomes increasingly dangerous with the fear that there is an informant at work.

Alex Clark is a British literary journalist and editor who has written for The Guardian, The Observer and The Times Literary Supplement. She also presents Front Row on BBC Radio 4 and hosts The TLS Podcast about books.
