Drone Mass isn’t really a mass. It’s a mysterious and richly atmospheric work inspired by ancient Egyptian Coptic hymn. Following the enormous success of last year’s sold-out Irish Premiere at Kilkenny Arts Festival, Crash Ensemble and Chamber Choir Ireland now bring this iconic work on tour under Guest Conductor, Gabriel Crouch.

The late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson was a singular talent, as celebrated for his theatre and film scores (including The Theory of Everything, Arrival and Sicario) as for his orchestral work. Since his untimely death in 2018, Drone Mass has come to be regarded as the Icelandic composer’s crowning achievement.
